Architecture design and assessment

Typically an architecture assessment and design has to be done at the very beginning of your implementation lifecycle. We apply our expertise to help you choose the right hardware platform for the right workload, assist in the evaluation of vendors, design your hardware layout and architecture and assist in the evaluation of vendors.

Essentially this is where we identify the fits and gaps in your existing architecture. If you are new to PeopleSoft, this service will prepare you and your IT team to the PeopleSoft architecture. We work with your hardware vendor, PeopleSoft alliance to put together a winning architecture design to meet your workload. Our typical assessment services take three weeks to deliver and have a fixed scope and fixed price.

Key Benefits

Capabilities

Analysis and review of existing infrastructure

We work with your data center IT team to review the performance and capacity reports to project the needs for the PeopleSoft implementation. Prior to deciding whether an existing server can be leveraged for the new PeopleSoft environment, a key decision has to be made by reviewing the capacity and performance characteristic of that server.

High performance and high availability

Today business processing requires an uptime of a true 24 x 7, continuous operation. With applications such as Employee self service and Time and Labor, Travel and Expenses, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain  etc every employee or sometimes even customers and vendors are potential users of the system. The needs for server power has grown. Performance and availability is critical.

While designing the system, these requirements have to be factored into the architecture layout. At the same time, wastage of computing power needs to be eliminated.

Our expertise in Z/OS parallel sysplex and DB2 Data sharing help you realize a 24 x 7 deployment in a Z/OS environment. How about the Web Servers and the application servers?. We can help you choose between the right clustering choice or content switches. Read our white paper on "High performance and High availability design for PeopleSoft".

Hardware evaluation and Sizing

Sizing and hardware evaluation is a very important milestone in your implementation. Sizing is not an accurate science. You have to visualize the application behavior and usage upfront. We partner with you and your users to gather the necessary details and work with the hardware vendor and PeopleSoft alliance to deliver the best possible hardware platform to meet your workload.

Deliverables

Phase 1

At the end of this phase, you get a complete report that covers the existing infrastructure, all the identified technical gaps for your implementation strategy. We meet with your management team, user community to gather critical project information. A preliminary architecture design is also furnished which will form the basis to vendor evaluation.

Phase 2

During this phase, we work with the hardware vendors to finalize the platform and arrive at the final architecture. At the end of this phase you get a detailed technical project plan where critical milestones are identified in order to carry out the implementation. You can implement this technical project plan without any modification to your project charter and master plan.
